Tracy Nature Activity Fun Book – A fun activity book that highlights key examples and elements of Tracy’s Natural Environment designed for elementary grade students. It is our goal to make the Tracy Nature Activity Fun Book available to all 4th grade students if funds are available. Initial development and printing of the activity book was supported by grants from the Great Valley Center/Citigroup Success Fund and The Safeway Foundation. The 1st edition was issued in 2009.
Tracy Poppy Project - Celebrating our state flower, California Poppy seeds are provided to 4th grade classes in an ongoing annual project to make Tracy flower with California Poppies each spring.
Classroom/Student Art Shows - Class project art work involving Tracy’s Nature (or History) will be displayed in Student Art Shows held during the school year at the Tracy Historical Museum.
Essay and Poster Contest – WATCH FOR ANNOUNCEMENT IN AUGUST 2010 – Student Essay contest and student poster contest targeting elementary age students. 2010 topic – Alternative Energy. Details to be announced in August 2010.
Habitat Restoration Project – FUTURE DEVELOPMENT – We hope to establish a student habitat restoration project that the Foundation can support on an ongoing basis.
Nature Park Field Trips – Subject to available funding, a limited number of small grants may be offered for transportation costs for classes to conduct field trips to regional nature parks as part of the Classroom Grant program.
